De waarde van een BioFabLab in design educatie
UGent Campus Kortrijk, Switchrs en Glimps werken samen aan het project prototyping circulair.
Met prototyping circulair willen we een circulaire mindset met focus op de biologische loop creëren en willen we het prototyping proces van studenten Industrieel Ontwerpen van UGent, circulair maken.
We installeerden een BioFabLab, hiermee willen we een circulaire mindset met focus op de biologische loop stimuleren bij de industrieel ingenieurs, industrieel ontwerp studenten.

Voor docenten design
1. In deze sessie vertellen we over het project prototyping circulair en delen we onze geleerde lessen.
2. Je gaat zelf aan de slag in het BioFabLab waarbij je een 3D-letter in mycelium maakt.
3. In een interactieve sessie netwerk je met andere docenten en bespreken we mogelijkheden binnen jullie specifieke context.
Deze workshop richt zich specifiek op docenten design maar andere docenten en leerkrachten zijn uiteraard ook welkom.

How can circular bio-based DIY materials be used in the curriculum of Industrial Design students at UGent Campus Kortrijk?

15 Student teams of the 3th year Industrial Design invented, tested and adapted system solutions to find an answer. They present their final results on the course of cybernetics and systems-oriented design.
​
The students will pitch on campus, the event will be streamed.

Camilo Ayala Garcia, Professor at the University de los Andes, Colombia, on the topic of DIY materials and the kingdom of vegetabile

Jasper Bloemen, founder and director of Glimps.bio, will tell you more on the topic of biomaterials.

Rodrigo García González, co-founder and co-CEO of Notpla, gave a talk about the future of flexible packaging using seaweed as renewable, biodegradable, and even edible material.

In this lecture, Jan Leyssens discusses the role of design and the designer in a time where we are reaching the boundaries of our build and natural environment.
